This Design and Build project in Bradford comprised the construction of a new Cochlear Implant facility, the first of its type in the UK. The two storey building includes day centre facilities to the ground floor and offices/administration to the first floor with the installation of five specialist modular booths constructed to stringent acoustic requirements. The fit-out of the five booths was completed using 100mm thick steel skinned modular clipped together panel systems, designed to achieve a background noise level of <NR35 from all sources.
The build process was completed with part access through the existing hospital facilities and required careful consideration for the day to day running of Bradford Royal Infirmary.
