We assisted Fresh-Pak (part of Perkins Chilled Food Group plc) in locating and acquiring this existing unit in Barnsley, previously used for the manufacture of computer and electrical goods, in order to accommodate the successful expansion of their business, supplying egg and egg products to major UK retailers.
Following acquisition, we carried out an extensive upgrade of the building to create a state of the art high care food production facility, including structural upgrade, provision of internal finishes, environmental and building services to food safe standards, a new extension to provide chilled storage and despatch facilities and completely re-cladding the exterior of the unit. The works were carried out under a design and build contract in three separate phases to suit Fresh-pak’s production requirements.
